Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Boma will reopen Friday, offering the resort’s first buffet since reopening last year after the Covid-19 closures.
Boma – Flavors of Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will be reopening this Friday, August 20th. The restaurant had been closed since the resort closed last year due to safety concerns from the pandemic.
Reservations for the restaurant will become available beginning Wednesday, August 18th.
Boma offers foods inspired by over 50 African countries, along with favorite American classics, and is open for both breakfast and dinner.
Up to this point all buffet-style dining locations at Walt Disney World had been operating with temporary changes, most utilizing a family-style serving method.
Boma will be opening on Friday with both breakfast buffet and dinner buffet service. Although, the company has bot commented on whether or not guests will be able to serve themselves at the buffet itself.
This shift may see the return of other buffets around the resort in the coming months, although that may be dependent on how well this first buffet operates after reopening.
It is also rumored that Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort may see the return of its regular menu later this week. That could mean the return of the meats on skewers, and no more shrimp casserole.
