The Walt Disney Company will be requiring all theme park employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in an effort to combat rising cases across the United States.

The Delta variant of COVID-19 has spread across the US and has caused rising cases across all 50 states, public health chiefs have warned of an “extraordinary surge”.

According to reporter Scott Gustin, Disney has informed employees and Cast Members that they will be required to be fully vaccinated to continue working.

Gustin also revealed that Disney will be “postponing its return-to-office timeline that was announced in June. All workers who are working remotely should continue to do so”.

US President Joe Biden has also recently called for states to offer $100 to newly vaccinated citizens to address virus surges.

Less than half of the US population is currently vaccinated, according to official data.
