Disneyland Resort Cancels Reservations Through October
Disneyland Resort, due to the extended closure of theme parks in California, has canceled all reservations through October.
After nearly seven months since Disneyland Resort closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, there is still no confirmed date on when the resort will reopen to the public.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that California Governor, Gavin Newsom will be delaying the release of guidance as many theme park operators viewed them as too restrictive.
Now, Disneyland Resort is canceling all reservations through to October 24, just a week before Halloween.
It is estimated that since Disneyland Resort was closed, the Walt Disney Company has lost up to $6.1 million per day.
Newsom also said in a press conference that the state is in “no hurry” to release guidance allowing theme park operators to reopen and insisted that they are using a “health-first framework” to determine the reopenings.
Disneyland Resort later rejected Newsom’s comments and released a statement stating that they “absolutely reject the suggestion that reopening Disneyland Resort is incompatible with a “health-first” approach”.
