This new program is split into levels which allow you different amounts of park reservations, as well as varying levels of discounts.

Disneyland Resort announced the new Magic Key program today, which is the replacement for the resorts now defunct Annual Passholder program.

While you can purchase your Magic Key pass for the entire year up front, or pay monthly installments, you will be limited in how many Park Reservations you can hold at once.

They key difference for this new program, is just how many of those Park Reservations you can have at any given time. There are also differences in parking fees, and how much percentage off you can receive for food and merchandise.

See the breakdown of the major differences between each level of the Magic Key program in the image below.

Disney says that their “park reservation system is a cornerstone component of the Magic Key program as part of our efforts to help provide a great experience for all of our guests.”

It appears that the park reservation system is not going away—even after safety restrictions due to the pandemic have been lifted—at least when it comes to how members of this new program will be visiting the park going forward.

For a limited time, the first “Magic Key holders” within the first 66 days (as the resort celebrates 66 years,) will receive a special welcome package that will include unique items such as a premium branded pin, celebratory button, magnet, and more.

Starting August 25, 2021 (no earlier than 10 a.m. PT), guests will be able to purchase their preferred Magic Key pass type.

Disney says that Key holders will have their first opportunity to “unlock” a visit to Disneyland park or Disney California Adventure park by making a theme park reservation that very same day, after joining.

You can learn more about how the program will work from the Disneyland Resort’s official website.
