EPCOT’s new main gift shop was announced to open this summer, so we’re checking in on the progress of that structure, and more, around the park’s central area.
The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is kicking off today, but the long awaited replacement for MouseGear, the park’s main gift shop, is still not ready.
The new gift shop is being constructed using the some of the existing structure from the previous shop, but most of its interior was gutted.
The new version of the store, named “Creations Shop,” will feature large, picture windows facing the center of the park. It will also feature the new location of “Club Cool Presented by Coca-Cola.”
Looking around the site, it appears that most of the windows have been installed around all sides of the large store.
Some of the colorful swatches along the roof line of the structure have been painted over recently, all one uniform color.
They are only partially done with this painting, and the old color pattern remains in some places.
Next door to the new shop, work is picking up steam for the park’s new quick service location, replacing Electric Umbrella.
From the breezeway we can see that glass is being installed along the walls of the quick service location as well.
From Spaceship Earth’s exit, we can see both the upcoming quick service in the foreground, and Creations Shop in the background.
There appears to still be quite a lot of work to be done before the new quick service location is ready.
The Creations Shop still has a ways to go as well if it’s going to be opening “this summer.”
Stay tuned for continuing updates on this project, as well as the other construction going on around Walt Disney World!
