Mary Poppins and Spaceship Earth EPCOT Projects Postponed
A Disney spokesperson has confirmed that both projects will be postponed after a long term project evaluation.
After an almost four month closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Walt Disney World has made some tough decisions on both the upcoming Mary Poppins and Spaceship Earth projects for EPCOT.
An official announcement by a Disney spokesperson revealed the following:
As with most businesses during this period, we are further evaluating long-term project plans. The decision was made to postpone development of the “Mary Poppins”-inspired attraction and Spaceship Earth at this time.
Bob Chapek, who was Chair of Parks, Experiences and Products said “every inch of every park should be magical and that’s why I’m so excited about this transformation”.
The addition to the EPCOT theme park was originally announced in August 2019 at the D23 Expo, the company’s annual conference.
