More dining options will be returning to Walt Disney World Resort this May the resort announced today.

Some of the dining options returning include Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Cape May Café at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Tusker House Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Emily Amato said on the Disney Parks blog that starting May 16, Chef Mickey’s family-style dinner will include “no touch” appearances by the Fab Five including taking a selfie or waving hello.

“Similar to other character dining locations, guests will take home a souvenir with character signatures and colorful artwork.”

That isn’t all that’s coming to Chef Mickey’s. The dinner menu includes citrus-poached shrimp salad, roasted garlic potato gratin, plant-based faro what fried rice, and prime rib.

Delicious roasted turkey and salmon are also available on the dinner menu. Young children can enjoy mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, and turkey corn dog nuggets.


Over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, guests will be able to enjoy dining at Cape May Café when it reopens on May 18.

“The New England-style restaurant is a perfect location to refuel before and after a day of adventure at Walt Disney World.”

The café will be serving breakfast and dinner when it reopens however Minnie’s Beach Bash Character Breakfast and the Seafood-and-More Dinner Buffet will not be returning at reopening but may later.

For guests looking for breakfast before spending a day at one of the many parks, the family-style breakfast menu features pastries, omelets, and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse waffles.

Bookings for Cape May Café and dinnertime at Chef Mickey’s open on May 7.

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Tusker House restaurant will also be reopening on a date yet to be announced by the resort.

Disney has told us that “guests will enjoy delicious family-style entrees inspired by the flavors of Africa and can snap photos of Donald Duck and friends, dressed in their safari best as they promenade through the restaurant.”
