The popular attraction opened with reasonable wait times after requiring virtual line reservations up to this point.
After requiring a virtual line reservation to ride since it opened in December of 2019, today marked the first time guests could simply line up to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Despite large crowds arriving early this morning to be among the first to “rope drop” the park and head to the ride, wait times leveled off within a couple hours.
The longest posted wait time was 3 hours, although that quickly fell to 80 minutes after the initial rush.
Walt Disney World announced today’s switch from virtual queue Boarding Groups to regular standby last week.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is set to utilize the same type of virtual queue system that Rise of the Resistance was using when it officially opens at EPCOT on October 1st.
Disney says that Rise of the Resistance may switch back to virtual queue again in the future, but for now anyone can simply get into line to experience the attraction.
When the attraction was utilizing virtual queue, guests could only reserve one boarding group reservation per day, but with the standby line, guests can ride multiple times in the same day without restriction.
