Tokyo Disneyland Announces The Official Opening For “New Fantasyland” On April 15, 2020

At long last the big news for the grand opening for the “New Fantasyland” project coming to Tokyo Disneyland will be officially opening on April 15, 2020. Disney and The Oriental Land Co. (OLC) shared more details for this huge investment expansion project in which the resort is playing catch towards rest of the Disney Parks around the world.

Construction first broke back in 2017 for a three year plan that cost ¥75 billion yen (close to $700 million USD) while Tokyo Disney Sea’s eighth port for their massive expansion plans that Disney and the OLC is investing ¥250 billion yen ($2.2 billion USD) according to Blooloop and the Orlando Sentinel.

Their will be several experiences, areas and attractions for the “New Fantasyland” project and here’s what you can expect for this new upcoming expansion at the resort-

Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast:

Step into the world as tale as old as time of Belle’s Village right from the animated classic film as some the features will be similar towards Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland at Walt Disney World that will feature; Maurice’s Cottage, Gaston’s Fountain and Tavern. It will include shops and restaurants including the the crown jewel it’s self for Beast’s Castle.

This will house the attraction that is highly anticipated as this will be a floorless dark ride attraction that guests will be part of a musical adventure in the ride vehicles that will synchronize towards the rhythm of the iconic songs and scenes from the animated film.

Fantasyland Forest Theatre:

Details were not shared of what will be going inside the 1,500-seated indoor theatre that will feature Mickey and his pals for live entertainment as this will be Tokyo Disneyland’s first full-scale indoor theatre. Stay tuned for details once they become available.

The Happy Ride with Baymax:

Over at Tomorowland, Disney’s Big Hero 6 is getting it’s first ever attraction as Baymax will help satisfy you with your care as everyone’s favorite health companion that will swing you around and around for the attraction. This will be the same ride system as Alien Swirling Saucers at Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree at Cars Land at Disney California Adventure.

The Big Pop:

This will be an outer spaced themed popcorn shop that will sell offer multiply popcorn flavors as one of the resort’s most famous snacks and popcorn buckets that will also be in Tomorrowland as well with the Big Hero 6 attraction.

Minnie’s Style Studio:

The Disney fashion diva, Minnie Mouse will be getting her own dedicated meet and greet area in which Mickey Mouse already has his own dedicated meet and greet area for a while now. Guests will able to take photo ops with Minnie Mouse herself and explore her own style studio.

“New Fantasyland” will be opening just in time for the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games in 2020 while Disney’s competitor for Universal Studios Japan in Osaka will be opening up “Super Nintendo World” as well just in time for the summer games as well.
