“The World’s Most Magical Celebration” will begin October 1st, and will last 18 months, introducing new attractions, shows and more.
All four theme parks at Walt Disney World will feature shimmering EARidescent decor, as the resort’s 50th anniversary event prepares to kick off on October 1, 2021.
As part of the celebration, two new nighttime spectaculars will begin starting the evening of October 1st: “Harmonious” at EPCOT and “Disney Enchantment” at Magic Kingdom.
Disney Enchantment will be a new nighttime show that will feature music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.
“Harmonious” at EPCOT will be one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for a Disney park. The new show, which will take place in the center of World Showcase lagoon, will feature new interpretations of classic Disney songs, reimagined in more than a dozen languages by a diverse group of 240 artists from around the world.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be receiving new daytime entertainment called “Disney KiteTails,” with multiple showtimes daily beginning October 1st inside the Discovery River Amphitheater.
Performers will fly windcatchers and kites of all shapes and sizes, while out on the water elaborate three-dimensional kites – some stretching to 30 feet long – will depict Disney animal friends, including Simba, Zazu, Baloo and King Louie.
50 special golden character sculptures will also be debuting October 1st across the four Walt Disney World theme parks.
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale will be part of this new collection, and guests will be able to interact with the “Disney Fab 50” in surprising ways.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is also set to open at the France Pavilion inside of EPCOT’s World Showcase on October 1st.
More fun surprises, like new character outfits, special merchandise and limited edition treats, will also be debuting for the Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary celebration.
