Walt Disney World Announces Details on 50th Anniversary Celebration
Walt Disney World has announced its plans to celebrate 50 years of it’s famous Orlando resort.
Walt Disney World officially opened on October 1, 1971, which will make it the 50th anniversary this coming October. Disney has announced some of their plans on what they’re doing to celebrate, which will kick off October 1.
The celebration will take place for 18 months, and will transform the parks as we’ve never seen before.
Cinderella’s Castle, at the Magic Kingdom, will “illuminate Magic Kingdom with a dazzling radiance that sparkles with pixie dust.”
Over at Epcot, “new lights will shine across the reflective panels of Spaceship Earth, connecting to one another in a symbol of optimism resembling stars in a nighttime sky.”
At Animal Kingdom, “a warm light will emanate from the Tree of Life as magical fireflies gather to usher in the magic of nature,” and finally at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, “The Hollywood Tower Hotel at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be awash in a brilliance evoking the golden age of imagination and adventure.”
Cinderella’s Castle will also be adorned with a 50th Anniversary crest. That’s not all, though. You didn’t think Mickey and Minnie wouldn’t dress up for the occasion, did you?
The iconic duo will be celebrating with brand new outfits which will be embellished with gold.
More details are set to come, but we already can’t wait to celebrate!
