Orange County Approves $5M Loan to Universal Studios
Orange County has approved a deal that provides Universal Orlando Resort a $5 million loan.
This loan will allow Universal Studios to offset the costs of removing an old pipeline which currently runs through the construction site of the new Epic Universe theme park.
The total amount of the loan is $5,022,440.72 and Universal Studios is expected to take advantage of this loan as much as possible due to the delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Epic Universe, the brand new theme park was scheduled to open in 2023 but has now been postponed to 2024.
Details about the attractions have not been confirmed as of yet but concept art released by Universal portrays at least two roller coasters, several indoor rides, large lakes and a towering hotel.
