Shrek 4D, an attraction at Universal Studios Florida will be closing after over 18 years and after welcoming nearly 75 million guests.
In an email to Universal Studio’s Florida team members, the park said that “we have made the difficult decision to permanently close Shrek 4D in January 2022”.
“This attraction has had a great run and is beloved by our Guests”.
Over the years, Universal has added more new experiences for guests by replacing older attractions including Dragon Challenge and Cinematic Spectacular.
We are waiting for an official confirmation and announcement from Universal Studios Florida, but all signs are pointing towards the closure given the email sent to Team Members.
In the same email, the park also revealed that Revenge of the Mummy will be undergoing a length refurbishment starting early next year.
The attraction is expected to be closed until summer 2022 but Universal has not given a specific refurbishment schedule.
