Universal Studios Japan has announced that the new grand opening date for Super Nintendo World is March 18.
After the original grand opening date of February 4, 2021 was postponed due to a temporary state of emergency for Osaka, Universal Studios Japan announced today that the new theme park land will instead hold its grand opening on March 18, 2021.
The highly themed land, which contains rides based on Mario Kart and Yoshi, as well as dining, shopping and interactive experiences, has been in previews for select guests since December of last year.
The grand opening of Super Nintendo World will kick off the park’s year-long 20th anniversary celebration.
Continuing the park’s enhanced Covid safety protocols, the land is expected to utilize timed entry tickets for the Super Nintendo World area. This will limit the number of guests that can be within the new area at once.
Timed entry tickets can be purchased through the official website as part of ticket and Universal Express packages. Additional timed entry tickets will also be made available to a limited number of guests for free in the park each morning.
You can learn more about Super Nintendo World’s offerings, as well as timed entry ticket information, at the official website.
