The former Universal Studios Store is now the Universal Legacy Store at CityWalk Orlando, and it’s showing off unique models and props for attractions of today, and the past!

The original Universal Studios Store is going through a re-branding to become the “Universal Legacy Store.” This is happening ahead of the debut of the new, much larger, Universal Studios Store, which is under construction near the entrance to CityWalk.

As part of the re-branding effort, the new Legacy Store is being filled with plenty of unique and interesting pieces spanning all 30 years of the resort’s history.

Even before entering, you’ll be greeted by two gargoyles that longtime fans of the resort may remember used to flank the sides of Universal Studios Florida’s original gray arch in 1990.

Inside the store you’ll find a good assortment of classic Universal Studios Florida merchandise, including apparel featuring the park’s classic logo.

Some larger props can be near the entrance, like one of the teleport pods from The Fly that used to be featured in the original Horror Make-Up Show.

The store is set up like a props department on a film set, with different categories and labels. And every props includes a tag explaining where it’s from, like this statue head from the Ghostbusters Spooktacular show below.

The many props, models, costumes, concept art, photos and replicas that have shown up in the store are only on display to enjoy, but cannot be purchased.

Some of the older items on display include ride vehicle models from before Universal Studios Florida even opened, from rides like Kongfrontation and Earthquake.

You can also find props that were used on rides and in ride queues from classic attractions, like one of the grenade launchers from the JAWS ride.

As part of the change to the new format, the store is also swapping out some of its more modern merchandise for items you can purchase based on some of the resort’s older properties like Back to the Future.

You can also learn more about the history of the Universal Orlando Resort by reading the historical timeline signs that line the center of the store. They list out many of the resort’s major milestones.

While the store has received new signage calling it the Universal Legacy Store, they are adding more decor and merchandise each day. You’ll never know what might show up next!
