Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras 2021: International Flavors of Carnaval Starts Feb 6
Running from Feb 6 to Mar 28, guests of Universal Studios Florida will be able to sample festival cuisine from around the world and see intricately-detailed Mardi Gras floats up close.
Mardi Gras 2021: International Flavors of Carnival will bring a taste of the event to Universal Orlando Resort with booths serving authentic dishes from the most iconic Carnaval festivities from around the globe.
This year’s Mardi Gras event has been tailored to 2021 with guest safety in mind, allowing visitors to enjoy many aspects the popular Universal Orlando event is known for, but with a twist.
More than 70 delectable dishes and beverages will be available for purchase from 13 locations around the world. Universal Studios Florida will be decked out with vibrant decor. And for the first time ever, guests will be able to get up close to the spectacular Mardi Gras floats as they will be stationed throughout the park.
While there are no headliner concerts for this year’s event, we will be able to take part in a Big Easy bash with energetic dancers and stilt walkers in colorful costumes, as well as brass band musicians. And of course, there will still be plenty of beads!
The Mardi Gras Tribute Store is returning as well. Located in the New York area of the park, this newly themed version of the store will be fully stocked with new merchandise created specifically for 2021.
Here is just a sample of some of culinary creations and Cajun fare you’ll be able to enjoy during the event:
- Fan-favorite Cajun cuisine from New Orleans, such as a Crawfish Boil, Jambalaya, Beignets and other Big Easy delights
- Classic Carnaval dishes from the islands, such as Pernil & Mofongo from Puerto Rico, a vegan Pholourie from Trinidad and Tobago and Jerk Chicken from the Bahamas
- Pork Schnitzel Sliders and Bavarian Pretzels from Germany, iconic Paella Mixta and Leche Frita from Spain and Belgium Liege Waffles from Belgium
- Other famous flavors from Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Cuba, Italy, France and more
Tasting lanyards will be available for those that want to treat their taste buds to a variety of international samples, including an exclusive Passholder lanyard.
Additional dishes and specialty drinks can be found around the park, as well as the dining locations of Universal Citywalk and the on-site hotels.
This event will run from Saturday, February 6 and continue through Sunday, March 28, and is included with general admission to Universal Studios Florida.
