As Mardi Gras comes to a close in Universal Studios Orlando, many guests are looking ahead to the park’s next big marquee event. While Easter may have just come and gone, Halloween is right around the corner, and the team at Universal Orlando is just as eager to dig into the Halloween Festivities as many of the parkgoers are. At the beginning of April 2024, Universal Studios released brand new information about this year’s event, including ticket prices for a variety of experiences, new HHN33 merch making its debut in the parks, and an exciting announcement regarding this year’s event dates.
While this year’s event does seem to clock in as the most expensive year to date – which parkgoers and scream squads who shelled out for tickets last year may not be surprised about – it also seems that the 2024 Halloween Season is planned to run longer than ever, with the event starting August 30th and running through to November 3rd.
While guests are able to purchase tickets now, anyone looking for a more extended haunting experience will have to wait; only single night tickets and add-ons are available for purchase, hearkening back to the sales system of the 2023 season. Delayed purchase isn’t the only similarity: returning for 2024 is Universal’s Peacock promotion, where guests purchasing Halloween Horror Nights tickets receive six months of Peacock Streaming Service for free. Peacock, for those unfamiliar, is the digital streaming service owned by NBC-Universal, and is home to not only countless Universal Pictures classics, but also many of the horror and thriller IPs that are celebrated at Halloween Horror Nights.
With single-night tickets starting at 82.99, it’s evident that the price of the event has only continued to climb. Multi-night tickets have not currently been released on Universal’s website, but event goers are likely to see an increase in prices on Multi-night tickets as well. Last year, the top tier Multi-Night ticket, which granted an event goer access to every night of the event and was the only tier that included event parking, ran nearly four hundred dollars for the forty-eight nights of fright.
Alongside the release of single-night tickets, guests also have the option to purchase Express Passes, RIP Tours, and Unmasking the Horror Tours, as well as merchandise for the event.
Universal has given fans a unique early access to select Halloween Horror Nights merchandise, revealing the flagship designs for the upcoming season and even setting up reveal displays in-park and online. Fans can grab tumblers, caps, and shirts, all around the 30 dollar mark on their website, as well as the Five and Dime store on Hollywood.
Designs for this year are bold and evocative of 90s street culture, heavily featuring spray-paint decals and neon colors. A strong departure from the grim aesthetics of Horror Nights Past, many fans are head over heels for the bright orange decor and the loud color combinations that seem to be the centerpiece of this year’s design themes.
While little information has reached fans about the actual offerings of this year’s event, speculation maps have already begun to circulate. And while it’s certainly too early for anyone to make a definitive call on what houses may be featured at this year’s event, it’s not unlikely we may be hearing more from Universal’s creative team as we continue to close in on the event that’s fast approaching. And while we all certainly have our own “unholy grail’ of IPs and House Concepts that we would like to see come to fruition in the parks, we’ll just have to keep an eye on Universal’s media team to see what exciting piece of information is revealed next!
