Coco Jones, a Grammy Award-Winning artist, has teamed up with Disney to breathe new life into an old favorite from the classic animated film The Princess and the Frog, which debuted in 2009.
Having originally performed her version of Almost There during the groundbreaking D23 Event earlier in 2024, Coco Jones has gone on to collaborate with Disney’s Create Your World program to inspire young girls to grow into all of their potential by inspiring and supporting them through creative endeavors and every part of life. In revitalizing an old classic, Coco Jones has proven that a song as timeless and enduring as Almost There showcases the drive that young girls across the globe feel, and how identifying with these timeless Disney Princesses can often be a source of strength and inspiration for them to pursue their dreams, just like Tiana pursues her dream in The Princess and the Frog.
“I was so excited to get involved with the Disney Princess ‘Create Your World’ campaign because I feel like princesses have always been such an inspiration to me and my little sister as we grew up,” said Jones. “I love the representation that Tiana has on the world and on young Black girls and it’s really exciting for me to be a part of continuing to make these classic, beautiful songs with beautiful messaging more modern and see what new generation they inspire.”
By placing these multi-faceted, multi-cultural heroines at the center of these empowering stories, young girls from all walks of life are able to see parts of themselves in these beloved Disney Princesses, who each embody the magic that is possible within our own lives. Whether we take charge of our own destinies, work hard for our dreams, or make our lives and the lives of those around us richer through kindness, empathy, and virtue, the Disney Princesses inspire us all to be better.
