Earlier, Theme Park Shark covered the announcement on Disney’s 70th Anniversary Celebration taking place in 2025 – information which mentioned some offerings that Disneyland will be implementing in the coming new year to help celebrate! But let’s take a deeper look into exactly what’s going to be happening at Disneyland in 2025, for this momentous occasion!

Mentioned in our previous article is “World of Color Happiness!”, a new night-time show inspired by Walt Disney’s most famous words at the opening of Disneyland park in 1955: “To all who come to this happy place… welcome!”
This intricate nighttime spectacle will explore what happy is through a “kaleidoscope of emotions,” where Joy and the other emotions from Inside Out and Inside Out 2 will bring guests through an array of emotions manifested as music and memories from our favorite Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios stories, like Turning Red, A Goofy Movie, Tangled, The Lion King, and many more iconic films that have made audiences truly happy in a countless number of ways over the years!
In addition to this newest installation of World of Color, the Paint the Night parade is making its return to help celebrate Disneyland’s 70th anniversary!
This parade, which originally ran from 2015 to 2017, will light up Main Street, U.S.A. with over a million dazzling LED lights as Mickey Mouse uses the power of his imagination to paint the night with Tinkerbell’s magic and the beauty of Disney dreams! Featuring beloved characters from all across Disney’s illustrious history, films like Monsters Inc, Cars, Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast will be brilliantly lit throughout the streets of Disneyland during this fan-favorite parade!
With characters, lights, spectacular floats, incredible costumes, and special effects in true Disney fashion, this performance is unlike anything else!
Also returning to Disneyland Park after an brief absence is the “Wondrous Journeys” show! Last featured in the park in April of 2024, this show will be returning to the Sleepy Beauty Castle for Disney’s 70th celebration! Featuring projections, a moving and heartwarming musical score, and fireworks on select nights, Wondrous Journeys is a tribute to the classics of Walt Disney Animation that inspired the original Magic Kingdom park. Moments from beloved stories like Hercules, The Princess and the Frog, Peter Pan, Frozen, Big Hero 6, Moana, Encanto, and so many more memorable movies that we hold dear to our hearts will be featured in this nighttime spectacular that will span across Main Street U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, It’s a Small World, and Rivers of America.
Wondrous Journeys will take a brief break at the end of 2025, but will return in 2026 to help see off the 70th Birthday celebration, which is said to run well into summer of 2026!
But Disneyland Park isn’t the only park getting all the fun! Over at Disney California Adventure, guests will get a brand-new chance to experience an old favorite, with the return of Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! along the streets of the park! This daytime parade last ran in August of 2024, and will return just in time to help celebrate Disneyland’s 70th birthday!
With close to 30 unique characters and a lineup of incredible floats that march along to some of Pixar’s coolest music, this parade is a high-energy celebration of films like Luca, Turning Red, Up, and more classic Pixar productions!
Like Wondrous Journeys, this parade will take a brief bread during the holiday seasons to make way for their Halloween and Christmas entertainment, but it’ll be back once it’s time to say goodbye to the holidays in 2025!
And of course, a birthday celebration for Disneyland wouldn’t be the same without the mouse who started it all! For this event, Disneyland Park will be debuting a new “character cavalcade” called Mickey and Friends Celebrate Happy! in which Mickey, Minnie, and all their palls will come dressed to the nines for this birthday bash, singing and dancing along the parade route as guests help them celebrate seventy years of happy with some of Disney’s most iconic music!
