Theme Park Shark previously covered Walt Disney World’s deals and roadmap for their Summer 2025 offerings, and the time has finally come! With that good old Florida sun starting to beat down on us and our clockwork thunderstorms rolling through, every Floridian can tell you that Summer is all but here! And to help roll out the festivities, Disney has debuted two new shows at Hollywood Studios this year to help guests take a load off and beat the heat in the cool theater seating they dream of while standing outside, in line for other attractions!
Now, May 27th, Walt Disney World has officially opened these brand new experiences for guests to enjoy – and with both finding their new homes in Hollywood Studios, it’s easier than ever to see these two fantastic stage shows!
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure
Located in the Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this show is a new visionary take on an old favorite. The Little Mermaid stage show experience has been a staple at Hollywood Studios for years, with Imagineers always finding new ways to enhance this underwater experience for families looking to relive the enchanting tail of The Little Mermaid.
Join Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder, King Triton, and Prince Eric as this charming Broadway-styled stage show takes guests on a nautical adventure that perfectly captures all of your favorite moments from the classic 1989 Disney animated classic.

“Watch as Ariel follows her dreams to be part of the human world. This little mermaid’s adventure is brimming with familiar moments—like encounters with King Triton and Ursula—and stirring scenes. Throughout Ariel’s journey, get swept away by moving musical numbers like “Part of Your World,” “Under the Sea,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” “Kiss the Girl” and more! This fin-tastic tale is enhanced with stunning set pieces and cutting-edge effects that capture Ariel’s imagination and emotions.”
Boasting expert puppetry skills, captivating set design, and impressive digital projection effects, this show is bigger than ever before and a brand new take on an old favorite.
The best part is that this show runs throughout the day – and while run times may vary, guests looking to see this show can find upcoming showtimes on the Walt Disney World app! This breathtaking show runs about twenty minutes and is suitable for all ages – and once you enter the Animation Courtyard, you can’t miss it, with Ariel sitting on top of the building waiting to welcome you into the theater!
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After
The second new show to debut in Hollywood Studios this summer is one that guests have been anticipating since its announcement earlier this year. Disney has a long and illustrious history of writing villains that we all love to hate, and this show is no exception! Watch as the best of the worst take center stage in this villainous revue where Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent all commiserate over being treated unfairly.
But the question of the hour is this: which of our favorite Disney villains was treated most unfairly? It’s up to the Magic Mirror to reveal the truth, and for the audience to decide which Disney Villain is the Unfairest of Them All.
“Enter the realm of the Magic Mirror—where dozens of villains are trapped! They want the Mirror to reveal the truth: which villain has been treated the most unfairly of them all? Watch as Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook and Maleficent present their cases on stage, persuading with wicked wisdom and wisecracks. Will you be swayed by their hijinks and humor? It’s a spellbinding show with moving music and a most memorable finale—where you help decide who has been treated most unfairly.”

Located on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios, this show also runs throughout the day, with multiple showtimes typically running from morning until evenings. Like The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, showtimes for Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After can be found on the Walt Disney World app for up-to-date, accurate information on the next showing.
This show runs approximately fifteen minutes and is full of musical mischief and special effects in a stunning broadway-styled stage show that is sure to be a fun time for all ages, because who doesn’t love a good villain and a rockin’ set? Enhanced with a stage full of dynamic digital screens that set a perfectly evil mood, this show is an absolute visual treat whose creative direction was knocked clean out of the park!
While there’s plenty to love about this deliciously evil stage show, a detail that really stands out is that Captain Hook’s character is not a full suit like you might encounter in the park, but instead a brilliantly crafted stage costume. This extra attention to detail and style really puts this show in a league all its own where Disney Villains are concerned as guests get to see new interpretations of favorite characters, and is the perfect blend of family-friendly and theatrical that is sure to have everyone captivated!
