Stardust Racers at Universal’s Epic Universe will be down longer than expected. The dual-track launch coaster was originally scheduled for a brief closure from February 19 through February 22, but Universal Orlando has extended the downtime through February 28, 2026.
What Happened
Universal initially listed Stardust Racers as temporarily closed for a short window earlier this week. That closure has now been extended by nearly a full week. The ride is currently expected to reopen on March 1, 2026, though Universal has noted that reopening dates are subject to change.
No specific reason has been given for the extended closure. These types of shutdowns are typically related to maintenance, inspections, or operational adjustments on newer attractions.
A Pattern Worth Noting
This marks the third closure for Stardust Racers in under a year. The dual-launch coaster, which races two trains simultaneously along intertwining tracks through Celestial Park, has experienced periodic downtime since Epic Universe opened in 2025. Extended closures on newer coasters are not uncommon as parks work through operational adjustments during the first year.
What Guests Should Know
If you’re visiting Epic Universe before March 1, Stardust Racers will not be available. The park’s other attractions across its five themed worlds remain operational. Check the Universal Orlando app for the most current ride availability and wait times.
Stardust Racers is one of Epic Universe’s signature attractions, featuring a 62 mph launch and over 5,000 feet of track split between two dueling coaster experiences. When it reopens, it should be one of the first rides you hit.
