Time is almost up. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios closes permanently after park hours on Saturday, March 1, 2026. Starting March 2, the attraction shuts down for a full retheme into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
If you haven’t ridden the Aerosmith version yet – or want one last lap in the super stretch limo – this Saturday, March 1 is your last chance.
What’s Coming: The Muppets Take Over
Disney officially announced the retheme in November 2024. The Electric Mayhem – Animal, Dr. Teeth, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips – will headline a Hollywood concert as you rush across town to get them there in time. Same high-speed limo ride, all-new Muppet story.
The recording studio queue gets a Muppets makeover as G-Force Records is taken over by the gang, courtesy of Scooter’s real estate mogul uncle J.P. Grosse. Penguins serve as audio engineers. The giant guitar outside gets a psychedelic Muppet-inspired paint job with a golden key nod to Dr. Teeth.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is set to open summer 2026.
What Stays the Same
The ride system isn’t changing. You’ll still launch from 0 to 57 mph in 2.8 seconds, hit three inversions in the dark, and hear a rock soundtrack blasting through the on-board speakers. The Muppets version will feature Electric Mayhem tracks through every twist.
Last Chance Details
Saturday, March 1, 2026 is the final day to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. The attraction closes as of March 2 and will not reopen until the Muppets retheme debuts in summer 2026. Lightning Lane is available while it remains open.
