Universal Orlando Resort has officially announced the opening of this summer’s Tribute Store.
The triumphant return of the Tribute Theater from 2022 and its celebration of all things movies, this summer’s Tribute Store will transport guests to The Tribute Store Plaza, an energetic 80’s shopping mall that puts the spotlight on both new and nostalgic cinema that has graced the silver screen over the years.
While this isn’t the first time that the Tribute Store has transformed into a celebration of some of Universal’s most memorable blockbusters, it does seem that this year’s trip to The Tribute Theater will be bigger and better than ever, with three highly themed rooms to explore, featuring locations like the Mega Movie Rental Store, the Mega Castle Arcade, and the returning Tribute Theater. This year’s summer Tribute Store aims to celebrate some of the most beloved film franchises in Universal’s illustrious history of blockbuster films, such as Jaws, E.T., Jurassic Park, and Ghostbusters, as well as some of the newer DreamWorks films that have defined a generation of animated films at Universal Studios.
The thrills don’t stop there, though! The Tribute Store Plaza is also intended to help celebrate the official debut of the Mega Movie Parade – a brand-new daytime parade at Universal Studios Orlando featuring all-new floats and characters from these exciting and timeless franchises, which guests will be able to experience starting July 3rd.
In true Tribute Store fashion, The Tribute Store Plaza aims to be one of Universal’s most immersive and involved shops to date, with photo opportunities scattered throughout the main rooms, dazzling new merchandise and treats, as well as countless Easter eggs for guests with a keen eye to spot, all inspired by some of Universal’s most famous films and most beloved characters.
Universal has stated that the summer Tribute Store will feature brand-new merchandise from guests’ favorite films, including both the classic blockbusters and the newer box office hits like Trolls, Illumination’s Minions, and Shrek. Reportedly, new bubble wands will also be offered at The Tribute Store Plaza later in the season, which will allow guests to add a new element of thrill and involvement to the upcoming daytime parade; these unique bubble wands will not only be able to interact with each other but with specific, high-tech parade floats throughout the Universal Mega Movie Parade.
Brand-new apparel, accessories, and home goods will also be sold at The Tribute Store Plaza, which fans of these classic movie franchises are sure to love. With no shortage of new goodies to discover at The Tribute Store Plaza this summer, and plenty of opportunities to represent your favorite classic Universal films, franchises, and attractions at the Universal Mega Movie Parade starting July 3rd, one thing certainly rings true: The Tribute Store is back, and more mega than ever before!
