Recently, a new addition to the Disney Cruiseline fleet was led down the Ems River from Meyer Werft Shipyard, guided towards open water for the first time by a tugboat leading the way.
Onlookers lined the shores of the river to watch this historic milestone for the Disney Treasure, waving in celebration of such a momentous occasion for the fledgling ship. The Disney Treasure will spend the next few days going through what’s commonly known as ‘sea trials,’ a series of rigorous tests to ensure that the vessel is seaworthy enough to be added to the Disney Cruiseline family of ships.
The Disney Treasure is the sixth ship in the company’s fleet, joining two original sister ships that launched the cruiseline in 1998, the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder, followed by the Disney Dream, the Disney Fantasy, and the Disney Wish up until the announcement of the Disney Treasure in September of 2022 at that year’s D23 expo.
With the Disney Treasure planned to set sail in December of 2024, the expansion of the Disney Cruiseline continues, set to see even more ships launch over the next few years from various ports worldwide. But with this 1,256-cabin ship sailing from Port Canaveral, Florida to various destination locations like the Bahamas and the Caribbean, there will be plenty of adventure to be had aboard this new ship.
Though the Disney Treasure hasn’t set sail yet, guests can currently book prospective cruises on the new ship via Disney’s booking website, which currently only offers seven-night cruises for the Disney Treasure.
When booking a cabin on this beautiful new vessel, guests can choose from four different types of staterooms depending on your party’s needs and budget, ranging from the standard Inside stateroom, which sleeps 3 to 4 within an approximately 169 sq ft room with no exterior view, to the Concierge Tomorrow Tower Suite, which can sleep eight in its spacious 1,966 sq ft room with floor-to-ceiling oceanview windows.

While a seven-night cruise in the Tomorrow Tower Suite does in fact cost more than your average 4-year in-state education, coming in at a staggering $47,179 USD starting price (or 23,450 per person), it’s an undeniably beautiful and luxurious room that will create an unforgettable Disney cruise experience, leaving you and your guests with magical memories that will last a lifetime!
All Disney Cruiseline prices include taxes, fees, and port expenses, so whether you’re looking to book the most expensive room on the ship or something a little more economical with an Inside or Oceanview Stateroom, one thing you won’t have to worry about is surprise fees at checkout! However, as with many cruiselines, guests should be aware that “Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses are subject to change and [Disney reserves] the right to collect any increases in effect at the time of sailing even if the fare has already been paid in full.”
But provided everything is smooth sailing, the price advertised on their booking site is the price that will be in your check out cart when you’re ready to set sail!
The Disney Treasure is set to have its maiden voyage in December of 2024, so for those looking to book a cabin on this exciting new addition to the Disney fleet, guests can check out the official booking site [here]! Bon Voyage!
