With all the hype surrounding Epic Universe, it’s easy to forget that Universal is doing construction and refurbishment across its entire Orlando property – and that includes new things opening at Universal Studios Florida, the oldest Universal park to open here in the Sunshine State. For some time, guests were aware of the work walls inside the Studios Store, which cordoned off what used to be the sweet treats and candy store portion of the park’s largest giftshop, allowing guests to purchase things like ice cream treats, fudge, pre-packaged sweets, and cookies, whoopie pies, and other baked goods from the case. Now, those work walls have disappeared, allowing the Studios Store to expand into that space. And with the sweets removed, Universal’s Sweets shop was born.
Located directly across from where the sweets shop used to be located in the Studios Store, this new candy store used to be called On Location, where guests could purchase cameras, film, and gifts – including the My Universal Photo Package or souvenir photos from your day in the park.

After that shut down earlier this year in January, workwalls went up around the former film location so that it could be transformed into a stand-alone sweet shop.
Far from Universal’s only dedicated sweets space, this new store gives guests an opportunity to enjoy treats and sweets from across the park without having to hunt them all down, much like the original Studios Store location offered, as well as a variety of custom pre-packed candies and other confectionery goods.
Having opened on May 22nd, 2025, this shop is a welcomed expansion to the Studios Store sweets section, with all of the same selection and more available for guests to choose from, including a limited selection of bag-your-own candies, counter confections, and a few of Universal’s newest and most popular popcorn buckets and sippers to choose from.

This new retail space is fresh, clean, and colorful – the perfect welcoming atmosphere for a candy store, and stepping inside feels like a fusion of old and new. Completely transformed from its old space featuring sundries, photos, and assorted movie memorabilia, this new candy shop location is one of the first things you see when you enter the park, and one of the last things you see when you leave, making for the the sweetest start (or finish) to your day.
