Announcement season has finally come to an end with the reveal of Halloween Horror Nights’ tenth house and fifth IP, the long-rumored WWE house ‘The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks.’ Joining other heavyweight IPs like Five Nights at Freddy’s and Fallout, The Wyatt Sicks has been a hotly anticipated house since the beginning of this year’s announcement season, and is proving to be a concept beloved by fans and Universal Creatives alike.
“Dare to take on the fiendish Wyatt Sicks. Enter their eerie arena and go through a doorway into their maniacal minds.”
Guest feedback on this announcement seems to be fairly split, with comments on the house either loving the concept or being flat out confused about how something like the WWE would fit into the established genre of Halloween Horror Nights; with horror taking a more defined presence within the pageantry of the WWE and storylines crafted to suit the performers’ specific horror-inspired characters and stories, some with their eye on this particular house seem to think that this is a perfect fit. Among those exceptionally excited for this house is Universal Orlando Resort’s Halloween Horror Nights Show Director, Michael Aiello.
“There have been some lifelong passions of mine, obviously horror being one, another is professional wrestling specifically @WWE. I love it so much. The pageantry, the spectacle, the stories. It truly was a doorway to showmanship and theater for me,” he says, in a series of tweets, “This brings me to Bray Wyatt […] His characters captivated me. I am a diehard Firefly.”
Aiello goes on to explain that he approached Bray Wyatt (Real name Windham Rotunda) in 2019 with the concept of turning his story into a Halloween Horror Nights House – but this concept never came to fruition, as Rotunda passed away in 2023.
Then, on June 17th, 2024 Rotunda’s brother Taylor revealed a new chapter in the Bray Wyatt story with the Wyatt Sicks, which Aiello states are “fully realized manifestations of Bray’s stories and personas and emotions, all within this new horror based faction.”
Still not sure what the Wyatt Sicks are about? That’s okay! Aiello has stated that for those familiar with the WWE group, the house will be filled with easter eggs and references; for those unfamiliar, the house will be read just like any other Universal original concept house.
If you want to learn more about the Wyatt Sicks ahead of the event, check out some of the backgrounds of the faction on YouTube, though viewer discretion advised for the mildly graphic nature of the carnage that the Wyatt Sicks wrought.
Whether you’re excited for The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks or not, you cannot deny the care and love that will be going into this house. Bray Wyatt was a hugely influential and widely loved figure in the WWE space – by fans, family, and friends alike.
Michael Aiello concluded his train of thought on twitter with the following:
“The collaboration has been fantastic between us @HorrorNightsORL and @WWE. This house is a dream come true.. for me, the fans and everyone who loves horror and wrestling and all those who will!
Someday is now. This one is for you Bray Wyatt. Thank you.”
