Universal Studios Hollywood is teasing the ride vehicles for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, sharing close-up images of four distinct cars on Instagram with the caption “Are these what we think they are?”
The four-slide carousel, posted on March 3, gives the closest official look yet at the themed ride vehicles that guests will board when the coaster opens this summer. Each car is modeled after an iconic vehicle from the Fast & Furious franchise, and fan analysis combined with previously spotted testing footage has identified all four.
The Ride Vehicles
The first image shows a chrome supercharged V8 engine bursting through a hood, complete with a roots-type blower and triple throttle body. This is Dom Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, the most recognizable car in the franchise and the lead vehicle of each train. It was the first ride vehicle officially revealed back in June 2025.

The second slide features a dark body panel with a sharp orange accent trim piece, bathed in blue lighting. Based on testing footage and the distinctive body lines, this appears to be Han’s Mazda RX-7 from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, a fitting choice given that the ride’s name is literally “Hollywood Drift.”

Slide three is the most identifiable of the group: a clear shot of a Nissan GT-R badge with the iconic red “R” lettering, mounted near a red tail light. This is Brian O’Conner’s Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, the blue drift machine driven by Paul Walker in the original The Fast and the Furious and one of the most beloved cars in the series.

The fourth image shows a bright orange body panel with custom pinstripe art, a chrome-bezeled headlight, and diamond-pattern mesh grille. This is Brian’s Toyota Supra MK4, the iconic orange car from the original film that has become one of the most recognizable vehicles in car culture.

Together, the four vehicles represent the heart of the Fast & Furious franchise: Dom’s Charger, Brian’s Skyline and Supra, and Han’s RX-7. All four cars make up a single train, with each car spinning independently as it races along 4,100 feet of track.
What We Know About the Coaster
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is a spinning roller coaster manufactured by Intamin featuring 4,100 feet of track, a linear synchronous motor launch system, and 360-degree rotating ride vehicles designed to simulate drifting. The coaster will reach speeds up to 72 mph with 4 inversions, making it the fastest roller coaster in the entire Universal Destinations & Experiences portfolio.
The ride vehicles were previously spotted testing in dazzle camouflage that concealed their final designs. Universal is holding an exclusive media event on March 4 for an official reveal of the three new vehicles alongside the previously shown Charger, plus a first look at a large-scale mural by artist Tristan Eaton that will be inside the ride platform.
A version of the coaster is also being built at Universal Studios Florida, where it will replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, with that installation scheduled to open in 2027.
