Walt Disney Imagineering shared a new behind-the-scenes look at the Avengers Campus expansion at Disney California Adventure, highlighting the structural engineering progress on the site in celebration of Engineers Week.
In a reel posted to the official Walt Disney Imagineering Instagram account, Imagineer Alanna walks viewers through the active construction site for the expansion, which will house the upcoming Avengers: Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab attractions. The video showcases the scale of the structural framework and ongoing engineering work as the buildings continue to rise above the existing Avengers Campus area.
This marks the first official construction update since cast members signed a steel beam at the expansion site on February 11. That milestone came as the steel structure for the new attraction buildings was nearing completion, with Imagineers and cast members leaving their signatures on one of the final beams before it was lifted into place.
Construction on the expansion has been progressing steadily since ground was broken in early 2025. The project reached a visible turning point earlier this month when the steel framework became clearly visible from inside the park, as we previously reported.
The Avengers Campus expansion will bring both Avengers: Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab to the land, along with additional dining and retail offerings. Disney has not announced an opening date for the expanded area.
The expansion is part of a larger multi-year investment in the Disneyland Resort. Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro, who will become Disney CEO on March 18, has called this a historic period of growth for the resort.
