What Is Bus Roadeo?
Walt Disney World holds an internal driving competition called Bus Roadeo, where bus drivers tackle a 10-minute challenge course designed to test precision, safety, and skill. Disney Transportation leaders design the obstacles based on real situations drivers face every day, from tight turns to sudden stops at 30 miles per hour.
Bus Roadeo events have been held at Walt Disney World since the late 1980s, rooted in a tradition that stretches back to national transit competitions in the 1930s. More than 40 drivers competed in this year’s event. If you’re planning a trip, check out our guide to the best time to visit Walt Disney World in 2026.
Doc Wins the 2026 Competition
This year’s champion is a 10-year Disney cast member who goes by Doc. She completed the course in 8 minutes and 26 seconds to claim the top spot.
“It’s overwhelming,” Doc said. “I had no idea I won, and I really wasn’t expecting it. There are so many good drivers, so it’s an honor. I’m so happy.”
Doc works on the Animal Kingdom bus team, where safety is her top priority. Before joining Disney World, she spent 25 years in public transit in Michigan and another five years in Texas, bringing 30 years of public transit experience before joining Disney World. Disney World operates one of the largest private bus fleets in the world, transporting guests between its resort hotels and the parks every day.
Next Stop: Florida Triple Crown Roadeo
Winning Bus Roadeo earns Doc more than bragging rights. She advances to the Florida Triple Crown Roadeo, presented by the Florida Public Transportation Association. The 2026 event is taking place in Orlando and brings together top bus drivers from across the state.
“I’m bringing all the skills I’ve learned over the years, so I’ll be at the top of my game,” Doc said.
