Since Bob Iger returned as CEO in 2005, The Walt Disney Company has contributed more than $4 billion through cash and in-kind donations across three core pillars: children’s hospital care, wish-granting, and support for veterans and military families. A new overview published March 16, 2026 on the company’s official news site puts the scope of that commitment in full view.

Children’s Hospitals

Disney has built partnerships with more than 1,700 hospitals in 45 countries. In 2018, the company announced a $100 million commitment to children’s hospitals worldwide. Through the Disney Movie Moments program, more than 400 hospitals receive first-run Disney films. Around 30,000 hospital staff have been trained through Disney Institute, and more than 2 million items have been donated via a partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Texas Children’s Hospital, the largest children’s hospital in the United States, was Disney’s first comprehensive patient experience partner. In London, Disney Imagineers designed the Disney Reef at Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2018. In 2024, Disney funded an accessible MediCinema theater at that same facility. Internationally, the opening of Shanghai Disney Resort was tied to a donation of more than $3 million, and Disney has established 50 Disney Fun Houses in 41 cities across China. Make-A-Wish: One Wish Every Hour

Disney is the world’s largest single wish-granter for Make-A-Wish, fulfilling a wish approximately every hour. In total, Disney has helped fulfill more than 170,000 wishes, contributing more than $200 million over the past decade alone. ESPN has aired 18 seasons of its My Wish series, and Marvel Studios recently hosted wish kids on the set of Thunderbolts*. (More on Disney’s Make-A-Wish partnership here.)

Veterans and Military Families

Disney has invested more than $20 million in support of veterans and military families since 2012, the same year the company launched its Heroes Work Here hiring initiative. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex hosted the 2016 Invictus Games and most recently the 2024 DoD Warrior Games, bringing competitive athletic events to wounded, ill, and injured service members.

Disney Aspire and Workforce Development

Launched in 2018, Disney Aspire is the company’s education investment program. As of 2026, more than 91,600 employees have been supported through the program, with 4,900 internally promoted. One in four hourly job applicants now cite Disney Aspire as a reason for applying. The Disney College Program, which began in 1981 with under 300 students, now brings thousands of participants to Disney properties every semester.

Disaster Relief and Housing

Disney has contributed more than $100 million in disaster relief over the past two decades. In January 2025, the company committed $15 million toward recovery from the Los Angeles wildfires. Through DisneylandForward, Disney committed $30 million to affordable housing in Anaheim, California, described as the largest nonresidential affordable housing investment in Anaheim history. Disney has also invested more than $400 million in youth programs since 2018.

Conservation

The Disney Conservation Fund, established in 1995, has contributed more than $141 million to conservation efforts globally. The fund has helped protect more than 300 million acres of habitat and has supported more than 200,000 animals across 39 countries.
