Walt Disney World is getting into the spirit of MLB Opening Day, with Disney Parks sharing a festive reel on March 25, 2026, one day before the bulk of 2026 Major League Baseball season games get underway on March 26.
The clip features a Cast Member on Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom holding a baseball, dressed in the park’s classic Victorian-era costume. The caption reads: “Pitch-perfect for Opening Day 😉🎶⚾️ #DisneyWorld.”
Disney World and Baseball Have a Long History
The connection between Disney World and baseball runs deeper than a social post. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World has hosted MLB Spring Training games for decades, with the Atlanta Braves calling the complex home for spring games from 1997 through 2019. The complex remains a hub for youth baseball tournaments and amateur athletics year-round.
Main Street, U.S.A. itself is designed around early 20th century Americana, the same era when baseball was cementing itself as America’s pastime. The aesthetic overlap is very intentional, and Opening Day gives Disney a natural tie-in to celebrate.

The 2026 MLB season officially gets underway with Opening Night on March 25 (Yankees vs. Giants), followed by the full slate of Opening Day games on Thursday, March 26. If you’re heading to Magic Kingdom during Spring Break week, plan accordingly. Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom has been averaging around 36 minutes for most attractions during the current Spring Break period, with crowds up compared to earlier in the month.
There are no confirmed baseball-themed in-park events tied to Opening Day 2026, but the festive nod from Disney Parks shows the spirit of the season is alive on Main Street.
