If you’re heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom today, there’s a welcome surprise waiting in Africa — Harambe Market has officially soft opened as of February 2nd, ahead of its full reopening on February 5th.
The timing is no coincidence. With Restaurantosaurus now permanently closed along with the rest of DinoLand U.S.A., Animal Kingdom was down a major quick-service dining location. Disney moved up the Harambe Market reopening to fill that gap, and based on what I’m seeing from the new menu, it looks like they’re going for a broader, more accessible approach to the food here.
The revamped menu features a mix of new and familiar options. Highlights include a 1/3 lb Angus Bacon Cheeseburger ($13.99), Chicken Strips ($10.99), and a Harissa Chicken Wrap ($10.99) with tandoori rotisserie chicken and harissa mayo. There’s also a massive Kubwa Cookie ($5.29) topped with chocolate cream cookies, potato chips, M&M’s, and dulce de leche — which sounds absolutely wild in the best way.
On the drink side, the Harambe Sunrise ($14.50) mixes jungle juice, wild strawberry, and Corazón Blanco Tequila. Safari Amber and Tampa Bay Reef Donkey APA are also available for $12.50 each.
A few things to note during the soft opening period: Mobile Order won’t be available, and operations will be at limited capacity as cast members fine-tune everything before the full launch on February 5th. So plan for potential wait times if you’re visiting this week.
Scott Gustin confirmed on X that the market opened today and will run at limited capacity through the week. This is a smart move by Disney — Animal Kingdom guests need dining options, especially with the park going through a major transformation as DinoLand gives way to the future Tropical Americas land.
