Thursday morning, the fifth house of this year’s Halloween Horror Nights lineup was announced via social media. Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America will be featured at the Universal Studios Orlando event for HHN 33. This marks the fifth house announced within the last week, adding to the absolutely monstrous amount of information that Universal Studios has given us on this year’s event.

Drawing upon the terrifying folk legends that have stalked through the darkness of Latin America for generations, Monstruos will feature Tlahuelpuchi, La Lechuza, and El Silbon as the horrifying hunters that will chase guests through the maze at this year’s event.

With La Muerte as your guide, you’ll be begging for piedad from these three terrifying legends: Tlahuelpuchi, La Lechuza and El Silbón. tix now on sale: https://t.co/9EfUJS6I9E #HHN #HHN33 pic.twitter.com/lGDv0PD9Rb

With this house being a recreation of a house by the same name that was featured at Universal Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Night Event in 2023, guests have a lot to look forward to with the knowledge of just how terrifying this house truly was. After winning House of the Year for the park’s event in 2023, it’s no surprise that this particular house has been slated to grace Orlando’s event with its award-winning terror.

With Tlahuelpuchi being described by the house’s dialogue last year as “A shape-shifting devil who lives on the blood of children,” the Tlahuelpuchi is reminiscent of the old changeling legends, of creatures that will infiltrate a human family – except this one drinks the blood of infants at night.

La Lechuza, a shape-shifting owl-witch that hunts those who wronged her and seeks revenge by their blood, is another monster reported to be featured in Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America, with the final creature being El Silbon, or “The Whistler”. This creature wanders the countryside of Venezuela, carrying a sack full of the bones of his victims, and is often regarded as an omen of death.

With these three terrifying tales to contend with, Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America promises to bring the same award-winning terror to Orlando as it did to Hollywood during the 2023 event, and with so much to look forward to this year it’s hardly a surprise to see Universal release more information this week than ever before – clearly, they’re just as excited for this year’s horrors as the fans are!

Theme Park Shark will continue to cover all Halloween Horror Nights News – from houses to scare zones and everything in between! As it’s shaping up to be another terrifying year, we aim to bring you all the creepy coverage you can stand in the coming weeks leading up to the event.

Her favorite stories have always been about magic and far-off adventures, and growing up in Orlando, Florida allowed her to experience those adventures in real life. As an adult, she graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2023 with a degree in Literature while working in the Education Industry. Her inner child, however, still has a deep love for fairies, dragons, magic, and adventure. When not writing her next big adventure, she enjoys drawing, puzzle platformers, theme parks, and fast roller coasters.
