In December of last year, The Disney Treasure was christened and set sail on its first ever passenger voyage as the newest ship in the ever-growing fleet of highly-themed ships that make up the Disney Cruise Line. In a moving ceremony marked with tremendous performances, character appearances, and a speech given to honor the Cast Members who make experiences like the Treasure possible, the new ship was officially crowned Disney Cruise Line’s newest treasure.

Now, Disney is giving us landlubbers a closer look at what goes on aboard this brilliant new ship, with more details than ever about everything happening on the Disney Treasure. With new entertainment offerings that live up to the Disney standard, guests can enjoy a true Disney experience without ever leaving the ship! (Though, with seven-night sailings to the Caribbean out of Port Canaveral, Florida, and an exclusive stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, I can’t imagine you would want to miss out.)

The Grand Hall is the main gathering space for guests aboard the Treasure; this space was designed with the ship’s theme in mind, evoking the thirst for adventure and wonder that we all experienced growing up with Disney films like Aladdin, which the Disney Treasure takes many of its design cues from.
The Grand Hall offers a variety of scheduled entertainment, including character encounters, comedy shows, and musical performances.

But if it’s a broadway-styled musical you’re looking for – one that pulls out all the stops – you’re going to want to head down to the Walt Disney Theater on board the Treasure. The shows performed at this theater were developed exclusively for the Disney Cruise Line experience, and can’t be experienced anywhere else.
Drop in and see a stage performance of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, which follow’s Belle’s adventure through the enchanted castle of The Beast – a prince, magically transformed into a hideous monster. This stunning stage production features elements from both the live-action and classic animated films, blended seamlessly together for a once-in-a-lifetime theater experience not found anywhere else.
The Walt Disney Theater is also home to Disney Seas the Adventure, a spectacle that features characters from some of the most beloved Disney and Pixar stories, all brought to life on stage amid renditions of classic Disney songs performed live.
Also housed at this theater is Disney’s The Tale of Moana, the first-ever stage adaptation of the beloved 2016 animated film, Moana. Follow the young chieftain-to-be as she confronts Te Kā and returns the heart of Te Fiti.
If live theater isn’t your style, worry not! In addition to the Walt Disney Theater’s live stage productions, the Disney Treasure also offers two cinemas – the Never Land Cinema and the Wonderland Cinema, a pair of luxury screening rooms designed for guests to see first-run films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilms, and more. Grab your popcorn, kick back, and relax with an unparalleled Disney film experience!

The Disney Treasure also offers a variety of themed dining experiences, with the Plaza de Coco restaurant, which offers a theatrical dining experience catering to guests of all ages. The entertainment offered at Plaza de Coco is a direct continuation of the beloved 2017 Pixar animated film Coco, which offers a wide variety on a menu inspired by the colorful culture and flavors of Mexico.
This experience offers two different shows, so be aware of which dinner you’ll want to join, or see both!
The first story takes place three years after the film, says Juan Cantu, Show Director of Disney’s Live Entertainment: “In working with our partners, we asked permission to continue the story and not just retell it. We first had to figure out the emotional beats, so we thought about the important lessons the film teaches us about generational healing. Music is a strong part of that. We also wanted to center it around our traditional celebration of Dia de los Muertos. There was a careful planning for what we wanted the experience for the week to be, and we had to decide what would be for night one and what would be for night two.”
For the second story, Miguel gets to reunite with his ancestors, his great-great grandparents Hector and Mamá Imelda. Together, they celebrate Dia de los Muertos in the town square of Santa Cecilia. This show is the perfect dinner to catch if you’re celebrating something, as the diners are invited to join these beloved characters as they honor all celebrations, from birthdays to anniversaries and more, as part of their heartfelt story about families and connections.

Another themed dining area, Worlds of Marvel, is an innovative restaurant that showcases some of Marvel’s most lauded superheroes in a larger-than-life exhibition that puts groundbreaking quantum technology at your fingertips.
In addition to this elevated dining experience, guests aboard the Disney Treasure can experience the exclusive Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix, which honors the superheroes that have safeguarded Earth against some of its nastiest and meanest adversaries. Featuring Rocket Raccoon and Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy, guests get to help Groot throw a surprise party for Rocket, enjoying desserts to the ultimate mix tape alongside Marvel trivia and activities.

If you don’t have time for dinner to be a whole production, you can check out one of the quick bite restaurants aboard the Disney Treasure, like the Jade Cricket Cafe – immaculately themed after the classic Disney film Mulan, this cafe serves a variety of snacks, coffees, teas, and specialty beverages. Guests can find the Fa family’s lucky cricket, Cri-Kee, immortalized in a jade statue showcased at the bartop, and one of the most famed quotes from the film etched in the mirror behind the bar: “The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.”
Also available for quick bites is the Heihei Cafe, inspired by Disney’s Moana. This walk-up cafe also offers quick service snacks and specialty beverages themed to the film from which it draws its inspiration. Located right by the Grand Hall, these two quick-service cafes are perfect for guests looking for convenience.
For a more in-between experience, guests of all ages can check out the Triton Lounge, which offers refreshing snacks and beverages while also offering fun activities like karaoke and trivia.
With so much themed entertainment offered on the Disney Treasure, it’s unlikely you’ll ever have a minute to be bored – but just in case you do, the Disney Treasure also offers a variety of age-appropriate clubs for young children, kids, teens, and adults, which we’ll be covering soon – so check back for the full run-down on the coolest clubs on the seven seas!
