Halloween Horror Nights continues to deliver, with what appears to be the much-beloved “spooky week” giving fans a glimpse into some of the most hotly anticipated houses in this upcoming year: the Universal Originals. With such a strong creative team and the best names in horror working year-round to deliver guests some of the most disturbing and immersive horror experiences in the world, it’s no surprise that Universal’s original-concept houses are so horrifying. Dolls: Lets Play Dead is the newest announcement in the already stellar lineup of houses announced for Halloween Horror Nights 34.
Announced on the official Halloween Horror Nights Orlando social media earlier today, Dolls: Let’s Play Dead immerses guests in the nightmarish world of a twisted toymaker, who mutilated and mutates her dolls, toys, and other macabre playthings.
“You’re about to become doll-sized and be hunted by toys that have been burnt, melded and stitched together by a twisted little girl.
You’ll be hunted by fashion dolls she’s melded and burned. Then you’ll go under her bed and be stalked by toys she’s stitched together. You’ll end in her creepy Victorian dollhouse, where undead horrors await you.“
Fans might remember a similar house in 2014, Dollhouse of the Damned – one of the most popular houses of that year, it tied with 2014’s Halloween house for House of the Year, showing that Universal’s creative team already has a strong track record of scaring the daylights out of fans with similar concepts. Guests have described Dollhouse of the Damned as “unsettling” and that the house actually caused them to cry. So, surely this year’s doll-themed house will be a walk in the park!
Take a look at some behind-the-scenes footage of 2014’s Dollhouse of the Damned posted on Universal Orlando Resort’s official Youtube channel:
The announcement for Dolls: Let’s Play Dead marks the sixth official house announcement of the season. After some of Universal’s creative team gave fans a sneak peek into this year’s theming and story at Spooky Empire, the strongest of this year’s original house concepts have been announced alongside traditional IP houses like Jason Universe and Fallout.
