D23: The Official Disney Fan Club turned 17 on March 10, 2026, and marked the occasion with a limited-edition anniversary pin.
The commemorative pin features two of Disney’s most historic characters: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Steamboat Willie Mickey Mouse. The pairing nods to the deep history of Disney animation – Oswald was Walt Disney’s first major character, and Steamboat Willie put Mickey Mouse and Disney on the map in 1928.
The pin is available exclusively for D23 Gold Members through the Disney Store while supplies last.
17 Years of D23
D23 was founded on March 10, 2009, as Disney’s official fan club. The name comes from “D” for Disney and “23” for 1923, the year Walt Disney founded his studio. Over the past 17 years, D23 has grown into a global community offering members exclusive content, merchandise access, early ticket sales, and fan events.
The club’s biggest recurring event is the D23 Expo, a biennial convention that serves as Disney’s equivalent of a major fan summit. The next D23 ticket sale is expected in early April 2026, with fans watching for announcements.
For the anniversary, @disneyd23 shared a celebratory reel on Instagram looking back at 17 years of moments from the Disney fan community. Membership details are at disney.com/D23.
