With the 98th Academy Awards airing Sunday, March 15 on ABC and Hulu, D23 is directing fans toward this week’s awards season highlights – and Disney has a strong showing on the ballot.
The biggest Disney contenders heading into Sunday’s ceremony are in the Best Animated Feature category. Both Elio and Zootopia 2 are nominated.
Disney’s Nominees at the 98th Oscars
Elio, Pixar’s original sci-fi adventure, is in the running for Best Animated Feature. The film garnered strong critical attention for its unusual premise and worldbuilding.
Zootopia 2 is also nominated for Best Animated Feature. The sequel was one of the biggest animated openings in recent years. Avatar: Fire and Ash rounds out Disney’s nominations with a Best Visual Effects nod.
Oscars Night Details
The 98th Oscars ceremony airs live Sunday, March 15 on ABC and streams on Hulu. Conan O’Brien is hosting for the second consecutive year after leading the 97th ceremony in 2025.
