Dana Walden, incoming president and chief creative officer of The Walt Disney Company, announced the leadership team for the expanded Disney Entertainment segment on Monday, March 16, 2026. The new structure unifies Disney’s streaming, film, television, and games businesses under one organization.
Walden officially steps into the role on March 18, reporting directly to incoming CEO Josh D’Amaro.
New Leadership Structure
- Alan Bergman, Chairman of Disney Entertainment, Studios, continues overseeing all film studios including production, marketing, and distribution, and maintains shared oversight of Direct to Consumer alongside Walden
- Debra OConnell, newly created role of Chairman of Disney Entertainment Television, overseeing ABC Entertainment, Disney Branded Television, Hulu Originals, National Geographic Content, 20th Television, 20th Television Animation, ABC News, and ABC Owned Television Stations
- Joe Earley and Adam Smith, Co-Presidents of Direct to Consumer, sharing responsibility for Disney+ and Hulu strategy and financial performance, reporting to both Walden and Bergman. Earley also serves as head of content strategy for Direct to Consumer, while Smith continues as chief product and technology officer for Disney Entertainment and ESPN, where he also reports to ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro
- Sean Shoptaw, EVP of Games and Digital Entertainment, now joins Disney Entertainment. He oversees the company’s games business including the collaboration with Epic Games developing a Disney universe connected to Fortnite
- John Landgraf, Chairman of FX, continues reporting directly to Walden
- Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer, reports to both incoming CEO D’Amaro and Walden
