Supervillain Gru’s most evil master plan yet is well under way!
Ever since Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem opened at Universal Orlando Resort in 2012, the Minions – Gru’s dedicated little henchmen – have become the unofficial face of all the chaos that drives the thrills and entertainment you can find at Universal Orlando Resort! From the fateful moment that Minion Mayhem opened, Gru and the Minions have been quietly taking over the world.
From Minion Lands dedicating an entire part of each park to these little yellow menaces at both Universal Orlando and Universal Hollywood, to a second minions-themed attraction opening at Universal Orlando Resort in 2023, the Minions have spread like an empire. Now, Universal has announced that Illumination’s Minion Land will be coming to Universal Studios Singapore on February 14th, 2025. Gru’s plans for world domination are coming to fruition, and there’s nothing park-goers can do to stop these adorable little weirdos from taking over!
This highly anticipated land will be the newest installment in the partnership between Universal and the animation studio, Illuminations, and will feature themed dining, exclusive merchandise, and new, immersive experiences including a show and rides like Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem and a carousel exclusive to Universal Studios Singapore called Buggie Boogie.
This version of Minion Land will feature several areas inspired by both the Despicable Me and Minions franchises, with themed shops and locations like Gru’s Neighborhood featuring his iconic brutal gothic-supervillain house (the location of Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem) and Super Silly Fun Land, where several carnival-styled rides and games can be found!
“The Minions are such well-loved characters,” stated Page Thompson, President of New Ventures for Universal Destinations & Experiences, “and this newest land builds on the incredible storytelling from the Despicable Me and Minions franchises, brought to life in an exciting, immersive theme park setting.”
Universal has released new details about these locations, from dining to shopping and all the minion mischief in-between!
Guests will be able to find new and delicious offerings at a the Super Hungry Food Stand, a new restaurant exclusive to the Singapore location that will feature classic carnival game kiosks like Down-a-Clown, Lucky Ducky, and Balloon Darts, as well as delicious meals like Japanese curry chicken and vegan burgers, ensuring that there’s food enough for everyone. A child’s menu includes things like chicken fingers with sweet potato balls, and rainbow cheesecake on the menu for dessert!
With plenty of retail locations within Minion Land, guests will want to get their hands on the Supper Silly Fun Land collection, featuring 15 items spanning apparel, home goods, and souvenirs – or the Minion Sakura collection, which will launch in March of 2025, shortly after the land itself opens.
For those hardcore fans who will be attending the opening of this immersive new land, special collectibles will be available to purchase. On February 14th, Universal Studios Singapore will be selling an exclusive Supper Silly Space Killer vinyl figure in two designs: a full-colored vinyl figure (limited to 1,000 pieces) or the ultra-rare iridescent finish (limited to 100).
