Friday the 13th is here, and so is Jason! It’s one of the spookiest days of the year, and Universal Orlando Resort her delivered with another announcement for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event, showcasing a new Jason house as the third house announced in this year’s lineup, intent on expanding the original Friday the 13th universe with even more horror. Another IP House, Jason Universe is coming to this year’s event, showcased on the official Halloween Horror Nights social media like Twitter and Instagram:
This new house, which aims to scare guests across the horrifying history of Jason Vorhees, will be the first time that Jason has been at the Orlando event since 2015. Now, a full decade later, the summer camp slasher has been announced as the newest house in this year’s 2025 lineup.
However, 2015 isn’t the only instance that Halloween Horror Nights has seen of the famous hockey-masked slasher. Originally debuting in the park in 1992, as a character in the first ever Bill and Ted show at Halloween Horror Nights (Bill and Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure), and subsequently in various cameos and supporting roles until 2007, when he was granted his first ever stand-alone house with Friday the 13th: Camp Blood.
Prior to Camp Blood, Jason had made several appearances in the Halloween Horror Nights lineup between his 1992 debut and his 2007 house, including both official and unofficial appearances (referencing whether Universal had technically licensed the character of Jason Vorhees for the event, of just referred to him as “hockey mask killer”) in which this masked murderer terrorized guests all over the park.
Now, Jason is back, and Jason Universe is expected to be just as intense and terrifying as the Friday the 13th houses that have come before it. This house is to be featured at Halloween Horror Nights Orlando and Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood, continuing this year’s trend of IPs being shared on both coasts.
With only two and a half months until Halloween Horror Nights, things are expected to start rocking and rolling, with more house announcements, scarezones, food, and entertainment on the way!
