Hours after being named the next CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Josh D’Amaro took to social media to share his first public statement—and it was all about the people who make Disney magic happen.
D’Amaro’s Message to Cast Members and Fans
“The most important part of Disney will always be the people,” D’Amaro wrote. “I have had the pleasure of working with tens of thousands of Cast, Imagineers and employees over the years… and it is because of them and the millions of Disney fans around the world that I am humbled and honored for the opportunity to lead this extraordinary company.”
The statement reflects D’Amaro’s well-known reputation for being deeply connected to Cast Members and guests during his tenure as Chairman of Disney Experiences. He’s been frequently spotted walking the parks, greeting guests, and engaging directly with frontline employees.
Congratulations to Dana Walden
D’Amaro also took the opportunity to congratulate Dana Walden, who will become Disney’s first-ever President and Chief Creative Officer.
“Congratulations to Dana Walden for becoming the company’s first-ever President and Chief Creative Officer for The Walt Disney Company,” he said. “I look forward to working more closely with you as we continue to cultivate and share our powerful stories to Disney fans around the world.”
Honoring Bob Iger’s Legacy
Finally, D’Amaro paid tribute to outgoing CEO Bob Iger, who will reportedly stay on to help with the transition.
“The remarkable foundation Robert Iger built over the last 20 years inspires all of us,” D’Amaro concluded. “As we look to Disney’s next era of innovation, creativity, and growth, I’m excited for the future and honored to stand alongside the best storytellers on earth.”
A People-First Approach
The tone of D’Amaro’s statement aligns with what many have come to expect from the Parks chairman. Throughout his career at Disney, he has emphasized the importance of Cast Members and guest experience—values that will likely shape his approach as CEO.
D’Amaro will officially take over as CEO on March 18, 2026, following a transition period with Iger.
