The first trailer for Spider-Noir is here, and Nicolas Cage is suiting up as the web-slinging detective for a live-action series on Prime Video.
Set in 1930s New York, the series follows Ben Reilly, an aging private investigator forced to confront his past as the city’s only superhero. The trailer shows Cage swinging through the city, brawling in bars, and leaning hard into the noir aesthetic that made the character a fan favorite.
Cage previously voiced Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but this series is not connected to the Sony animated films. Instead, it draws directly from the Spider-Man Noir comic books.
Release Date and Cast
Spider-Noir premieres May 27, 2026 on MGM+ and Prime Video. The series will be available in both black-and-white and color versions.
Cage leads an ensemble cast that includes Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, and Jack Huston. Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve) is directing the first two episodes.
The series was developed with Into the Spider-Verse filmmakers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, who also serve as executive producers.
The Theme Park Connection
Spider-Man remains one of the most popular characters across both Disney and Universal theme parks. At Disney California Adventure, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure anchors the Avengers Campus land, while Universal’s Islands of Adventure features The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, one of the most acclaimed dark rides ever built.
Any new Spider-Man content tends to drive renewed interest in both attractions, and the noir aesthetic of this series could open the door for unique seasonal overlays or merchandise tie-ins down the road.
