runDisney just revealed the medals for the 2026 Springtime Surprise Weekend, and this year’s theme celebrates iconic Disney duos. The event runs April 16–20 at Walt Disney World Resort.
Each race in the lineup features its own Disney pair and comes with a unique medal at the finish line. Here’s what runners will be earning:
- 5K: A “hare”-raising run with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from Zootopia
- 10K: A hunny of a 10K featuring Winnie the Pooh and Tigger
- 10-Miler: An emotional run hosted by Joy and Sadness from Inside Out
- 19.3 Mile Challenge: Combines all three races with Aladdin and Genie as the theme
Finish all three races and you’ll take home a fourth Challenge medal in addition to the three individual race medals — four total for the full weekend.
What to Expect at the 2026 Springtime Surprise Weekend
Beyond the races themselves, runDisney says participants will be “immersed in everything from meet and greets with rarely seen Characters to inspiring movie clips and more.” The weekend also includes a morning yoga session at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to help runners wind down after crossing the finish line. Registration for yoga is available separately at rundisney.com.
The races themselves take place April 17–19, 2026, at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The full weekend window of April 16–20 covers packet pickup, the races, and closing activities.
How to Register
Registration and full event details are available at rundisney.com. You can also follow along and share your race weekend photos using #SpringtimeSurprise and tagging @runDisney on Facebook and Instagram.
If you’re already planning ahead for next year, runDisney recently teased a Donald Duck theme for the 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. And with the Springtime Weekend falling in mid-April, it lines up with the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, which kicks off March 4 and runs through summer 2026 — meaning there’s plenty happening around the resort that week.
Whether you’re running the 5K or going the full 19.3 miles, the 2026 Springtime Surprise Weekend looks to deliver on the Disney duo theme across every finish line.
