Universal Horror Unleashed has officially opened in Las Vegas, and it’s not just another haunted attraction. Built on the creative DNA of Halloween Horror Nights, this permanent year-round experience takes everything fans love about HHN and dials it up, with four haunted houses, roaming scare-actors, and a live stage show that blends horror with Vegas-level spectacle.
Here’s everything you need to know about visiting Universal Horror Unleashed, from the haunted houses to the live entertainment.
The Four Haunted Houses
Each house at Universal Horror Unleashed is a permanent, movie-quality set designed for full immersion. These aren’t seasonal pop-ups. They’re built to last, and it shows.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The house radiates warmth, filling the air with the scent of oil, wood, and rust. Guests wind through the Sawyer family’s home, ducking under meat hooks and squeezing past stained walls as the sound of a chainsaw builds in the distance. Practical effects and tight corridor design make this one of the most intense experiences in the lineup.
Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer
Cold air, strobing lights, and whispered prayers set the tone from the first room. Actors trained in contortion and physical theatre blur the line between the living and the possessed, while the environment itself shifts in real time with practical effects. Universal has previously featured The Exorcist: Believer as part of the Horror Unleashed experience, and this version pushes the dread even further.
Universal Monsters
This is Universal’s gothic heart on full display. Guests pass from Dracula’s crumbling castle to Frankenstein’s laboratory to the Phantom’s shadowed opera house. The air smells of candle wax and old stone, orchestral echoes fill the corridors, and lighting dances like a flickering film reel. As we previously covered, the Universal Monsters house brings the studio’s horror roots to life in a way that’s both scary and hauntingly elegant.
Scarecrow: The Reaping
The only fully original concept in the lineup, Scarecrow: The Reaping drops guests into a dying farm where the land itself seeks revenge. Wind-whipped corridors filled with whispering corn, crunching dirt, and shifting walls of hay create an atmosphere that feels alive. Every scarecrow performer moves with uncanny precision, creating a fever dream of cinematic Americana.
The Jack and Chance Show
At the center of Universal Horror Unleashed is a live stage show featuring Jack the Clown and Chance, two iconic HHN characters reimagined through a Vegas lens. The collaboration between Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Orlando Resort, and Universal Horror Unleashed creative teams delivers macabre cabaret meets nightmare circus, with high-energy dance and dark humor.
Without the restrictions of film IP, the cast brings individual flair to every performance, creating the kind of electric, communal energy only live entertainment can generate.
Living Characters Between the Houses
Unlike traditional scare zones, the spaces between houses operate like a living horror film. Crafted characters roam the dimly lit corridors: a juggling clown tossing knives under red light, an eerie cheerleader, a melancholy wanderer. These aren’t random monsters. They’re part of an evolving story, and they remember returning guests. One visit might earn a wink. The next, a whispered secret.
