Tormenta: Rampaging Run is officially charging through Six Flags Over Texas. The record-breaking giga dive coaster opened July 9, 2026, towering 309 feet above a new Spanish village in the park’s Spain area.
The numbers get more intimidating from there. Riders pause over the edge for three seconds before plunging down a 285-foot first drop, with Arlington and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex spread out below.
Then the bull runs.
How many records does Tormenta: Rampaging Run break?
Six Flags says Tormenta: Rampaging Run breaks six world records. The park identifies it as the tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster, as well as the world’s first giga dive coaster.
A giga coaster stands between 300 and 400 feet tall. Tormenta reaches that category at 309 feet, combining the height with a dive-coaster train that stops riders at the lip of the first drop.
That three-second pause is the detail coaster fans will remember. Riders get a panoramic look across Arlington, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and Six Flags Over Texas before the train releases into its twisted course.
The attraction takes its theme from the power and strength of a legendary bull. Its full setting, Rancho de la Tormenta, gives the coaster a new Spanish village to loom over rather than placing the record-breaking structure by itself.
Where is Tormenta at Six Flags Over Texas?
Tormenta: Rampaging Run is located in Rancho de la Tormenta within the park’s Spain area.
The grand-opening announcement doesn’t provide daily operating hours or specific access rules for the coaster. Guests should check the park’s current information before arriving, particularly if Tormenta is the priority for the trip.
The July 9 opening also gives coaster fans a new centerpiece for a Six Flags Over Texas trip. Between the 309-foot climb and the three-second hold above a 285-foot drop, this isn’t a ride that hides what’s coming.
Six Flags describes the finale simply. After the pause, Tormenta begins its Rampaging Run, speeding through a tall and twisted layout. The park calls the coaster its newest signature attraction, and it towers over everything else on the skyline.
Shark Take: Go straight to the Spain area if Tormenta is your must-ride. The coaster is now open, but the grand-opening page doesn’t promise a daily schedule.
