Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid at Magic Kingdom will undergo a brief closure for refurbishment, Disney has announced.
Closure Details
The beloved dark ride in Fantasyland will close for a short maintenance period. While Disney has not specified the exact dates or duration, these types of closures typically last anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.
The attraction, which opened in 2012, takes guests on a musical journey through scenes from the classic 1989 animated film. Riders board clamshell vehicles and travel past Audio-Animatronic figures of Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder, and other characters while classic songs like Part of Your World and Under the Sea play.
What to Expect
During the refurbishment, guests can expect:
- Standard maintenance and updates to ride systems
- Possible Audio-Animatronic touch-ups
- Lighting and effects improvements
- General cleaning and restoration work
