Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, the new animated series from Lucasfilm Animation, premieres on Disney+ on April 6, 2026. The show launches with a two-episode premiere and will release two episodes per week through a finale on May 4, Star Wars Day.
What the Series Is About
Set after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the 10-episode first season follows Maul as he plots to rebuild his criminal syndicate on Janix, a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with Devon Izara, a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who could become the apprentice he needs in his pursuit of revenge against his former master.
The series is created by Dave Filoni and developed by Filoni and Matt Michnovetz. Brad Rau serves as supervising director. The animation comes from CGCG, Inc. and Lucasfilm Animation’s internal team, with a style described as more stylized than The Clone Wars but rooted in the same visual language.
Full Voice Cast
Sam Witwer returns as Maul, reprising the role he has voiced across The Clone Wars, Rebels, and other Star Wars projects. The full cast includes Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots, Dennis Haysbert as Master Eeko-Dio Daki, Chris Diamantopoulos as Looti Vario, Charlie Bushnell as Rylee Lawson, Vanessa Marshall as Rook Kast, David W. Collins as Spybot, A.J. LoCascio as Marrok, and Steve Blum as Icarus.
Release Schedule
Two episodes drop each week starting April 6, with the final two episodes arriving on May 4. That means the full 10-episode season runs across five weeks.
