The Red Coconut Club is a night club hosted on Universal CityWalk; with its relaxed atmosphere and high energy, it’s a favorite of guests looking to grab a quick drink or enjoy some good music at the end of the day. But at certain times of the year, the Red Coconut Club transforms for the holidays. Whether it be for Halloween (with the Dead Coconut Club, or sometimes the Cursed Coconut Club) or the holly-jolly spirits of the season for Christmas with the Green and Red Coconut Club.
Starting Monday the 23rd, The Green and Red Coconut Club will be open daily, with festive music and exclusive drinks in an environment suitable for all ages! Previously only opened Wednesday through Sunday, the Green and Red Coconut Club will be offering a chill and chilly venue for all kinds of festive fun every day of the week from 5 PM to 1 AM, so there’s plenty of opportunity to drop in for a drink and the perfect Christmas photo in front of one of the club’s beautiful Christmas displays!
Themed this year as the Mistletoe Pines Ski Lodge, the Green and Red Coconut Club offers a variety of areas that are all cozily themed to make the most out of the club space, from a lavish dance floor to – and I’m not kidding – an axe-throwing lounge, you won’t be left wanting for holiday cheer (and holiday stress relief) at Universal City Walk this year.
The Snow Globe Bar on the first floor of the Green and Red Coconut Club is a beautiful display featuring live music and an open bar. Guests must present ID and be 21 years or older to purchase alcoholic beverages, but the Snow Globe Bar can make a variety of virgin drinks, mocktails, and even offers Red Bull for purchase for after a long day in the theme parks!
With the projected animations adoring the far wall behind the Snow Globe Bar, guests will be able to spy the bright Christmas star, a moving ski-lift, and maybe – if they’re lucky – even catch Santa Claus flying by on his sleigh!
Whether you visit the Snow Globe Bar or are just in to enjoy the atmosphere, the Ugly Sweater Lodge is the perfect place to do it! Adorned with the ugliest sweaters Universal’s money could buy – and trust me, these things are UGLY – this lounge area is the perfect place to take five and enjoy time with friends and family. Whether you sit and snuggle a stuffed animal or play one of the board games available, the fireplace will keep you warm and cozy as you kick back and relax.
If you need to get some energy out before heading to the lounge, hit the dance floor, with its beautiful twinkling display lighting up a faux ice-rink for guests to dance the night away! Traditional tunes and modern bops come together to create a winter wonderland of music and lights that will get anyone in the holiday spirit!
But it wouldn’t be a Universal Christmas without Earl the Squirrel, the feisty little critter that debuted at Universal Studios in 2015 when Universal team members found a squirrel living in the 80-foot tall Christmas tree at Universal Studios Florida, chewing on lights and causing the spectacular tree to malfunction. Ever since then, he’s been a beloved character that’s become a tradition at the parks – and this year, he has his own tree farm at the Green and Red Coconut Club!
Welcome to Earl’s Tree Farm & Nuthouse, where Earl has welcomed us into his humble woodland abode to take a load off and enjoy the spirit of Christmas! From the 12 golden acorns Earl has hidden around the upper level of the Green and Red Coconut Club to the – and I cannot believe this is a real thing – Axe-Throwing game on the second floor balcony.
Okay, to be fair, it’s not a real axe – they’re hook-and-loop props meant to connect like velcro to the target, but still! What a wild thing to be able to do at a Universal CityWalk club! Holiday season got you stressed out? No problem! Just step right up to Earl’s Axe-Throwing Range and take all your frustration out on that there target!
Goodness gracious!
Remember to exercise caution when playing this game! Even if the axes aren’t real or even dangerous, we still want to be respectful of guests who may be around us when we elect to throw things in a public setting. But who wouldn’t take the opportunity to do a little light axe-throwing?
And who knows? Maybe if we’re on our best behavior, Universal will bring us a rage room for Christmas next year!!
