Universal CityWalk is going full Oz on Saturday, October 24. Oztacular Spectacular, a one-day “Wicked” fan event, runs from noon to 7 p.m. with meet and greets with Glinda and Elphaba, stained-glass photo spots and a yellow brick dance floor.
Universal Orlando Resort’s October 1 release describes both CityWalk experiences. The other one is already pouring drinks: a bar overlay themed to the NBC series “The Traitors: New Blood” at Universal’s Great Movie Escape.
What’s happening at Oztacular Spectacular?
The event mixes character time, film props and a dance party. Universal calls it a “thrillifying” fan event, and the lineup goes beyond photo ops.
Special displays will show costumes and props from the films. A DJ will spin the “Wicked” hits while guests “dance through life” on that yellow brick floor. Character appearances are also on the schedule alongside the Glinda and Elphaba meet and greets.
Trivia fans get their own shot. Universal is running “Wicked” trivia sessions, and winners can take home exclusive giveaways.
Shopping is part of the day too. The Universal Legacy Store will carry the latest “Wicked” merchandise during the event.
If you’re going, the festivities run from noon until 7 p.m. on that Saturday only.
When is The Traitors: New Blood bar open?
The bar is open to the public Wednesdays through Sundays from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. You don’t need admission to visit the bars. You do need separate admission to play Universal’s Great Movie Escape itself.
There are two distinct spaces. “The Library” sits on the first floor, and “The Roundtable” takes the second.
Both bars come dressed with set elements and props from the show. Guests can pose for photos and see costumes worn by host Alan Cumming, among other pieces. The drink menu is built around specialty beverages inspired by the reality competition.
Do you need a park ticket for either event?
No park ticket is mentioned for either one. Both experiences sit in Universal CityWalk, the resort’s entertainment district, rather than inside a theme park. The Traitors bar is the only one with an explicit admission rule: free to walk in, with Great Movie Escape ticketed separately.
For “Wicked” fans, the date to know is October 24. For “Traitors” fans, the bar is open now on its Wednesday through Sunday schedule.
