Outgoing Disney CEO Bob Iger and incoming CEO Josh D’Amaro spent Friday morning walking through Disneyland together, sharing the moment on their respective Instagram accounts.
Iger posted photos from the visit with the caption: “A morning at Disneyland with Josh D’Amaro, the new CEO of The Walt Disney Company. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Josh’s appointment!”
D’Amaro shared his own set of photos, writing: “It felt so good being back where it all started. Had a fantastic morning yesterday walking the park with @robertiger and chatting with our guests and cast.”
A Walk Through the Park
The two were photographed strolling through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, riding Jungle Cruise, and visiting Frank’s bench on Main Street, U.S.A. Both wore name tags as they chatted with guests and cast members throughout the morning.
Disneyland holds personal significance for D’Amaro. He joined the company at Disneyland Resort in 1998 and later served as President of Disneyland Resort in 2018 before moving on to lead Walt Disney World Resort and eventually becoming Chairman of Disney Experiences in 2020.
The CEO Transition
The visit comes just days after Disney announced on February 3 that D’Amaro, 54, will succeed Iger as CEO, effective at the company’s Annual Meeting on March 18, 2026.
Under the transition plan, Dana Walden has been named President and Chief Creative Officer of The Walt Disney Company. Iger, 74, will remain with Disney as a Senior Advisor and board member until his retirement on December 31, 2026.
D’Amaro and Iger recently sat down together for their first joint interview since the announcement with ABC News’ David Muir on World News Tonight.
